Tips On Managing Your Time Wisely By Rene Graeber - In today’s modern, fast-paced world, everyone’s usually preoccupied with the things that they have to do, the things that they should be doing, the things that they want to do, and the things that they need to do. These thoughts are actually enough to make a sane person go mad. Still, many people are able to overcome such a juggling act and they all owe it to great time management.
The concept of time is actually not new; its been used time and time again by so many people. However, not all people are able to perfect this method. Why? Well, it’s quite easy to do things that are within our comfort zone, and to totally forget the things that need be prioritized and that command our immediate attention.
When it comes to learning how to properly manage one’s time, it’s always best to be highly organized. Time is a very difficult aspect to accomplish if your things, notes, and schedules are in disarray. You won’t be able to accomplish anything if your efforts are always “half-cooked.” This usually happens when you’re rushing to do other things.

on a daily basis are in plain sight, so you won’t be scrambling for them when you need to use them. Store your files in a neat and organized manner. Remember to label things so that you won’t have to rummage through each and every folder or box just to find what you are looking for. You might even want to color-code things so that it’ll be easier for you to look for them. Being highly organized helps you maximize your time because you won’t be wasting a big chunk of your time just trying to look for stuffs. And since we’re already in the subject of organizing your life, the next thing that you should work on is your schedule.
If you’re not the type of person who list things down well, your memory should be really sharp; or else, it’s time for you to start organizing your schedule. You can opt to use a calendar, a planner, or even a palm pilot. It’s best that you know when, where, and what you’ll be doing not just for the coming week, but even for the whole month. This way, you already know how to manage your time well and not end up overbooking yourself with all sorts of commitments that you might not actually be able to do or delegate to others. But in case there are some things that you really can’t pass on, then you should know the details regarding the appointment like what time it is going to be, the purpose, the place where it will be held, and the persons you are meeting with. This way, you’ll be able to plan ahead and won’t end up panicking on the said date.
Lastly, learn to prioritize. Prioritize the important things that you definitely can’t afford to pass up like a meeting with your boss or an interview with a prospect employer. Other things that you should find the time for are your loved ones’ birthdays and other special occasions. But if you really can’t make it, then you must have a very good reason for doing so; because time is not all about working your way to the top, but having a balanced life.
