Real Estate Sales Coaching Is A Coach Worth the Cost?
I have often heard words similar to these, "I wish I could afford to hire a business coach. I need the accountability and one-on-one attention.” While a coach may cost a bit of money, the overall investment is small relative to the benefits reaped.
Knowing agents as well as I do (I am a recovering one) it is easy for me to identify key areas where they are most likely to run amuck in managing their businesses. Do any of these detours/victim statements resonate with you?
1. I failed to (create) implement my business plan.
2. I didn’t have time

to follow up with my past clients/customers.
3. The market changed, and that’s why I did not achieve my goals.
4. The clients and customers are more demanding and take too much time.
5. I don’t like using technology…I don’t use real-estate-specific contact management.
6. I don’t know what to say/do when they say X, Y or Z.
I could go on and on with statements like this, however, I think the point is clear. If you are struggling with these issues you need help, and a coach may be just what the doctor ordered. An effective coach will never let you get away with self-sabotaging behavior that undermines your potential for greatness.
Coaches don’t help you to learn something new; they help you to do something new. In real estate the simple truth is that something works, nothing doesn’t. Your coach adopts your goals and makes them her/his own.
The new year is off and running and what happens in the first quarter of the year often sets the tone for the balance of the year. What would the end of 2004 look like if the year were spent working with a coach? Where would the best athletes and business executives be without their coaches?
Whether you’re an agent, manager or broker/owner, navigating real estate today is challenging. Perhaps this would be a great time to partner with a coach who understands how to help you achieve your goals.
