The Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a master’s degree in business administration, which attracts people from a wide range of academic disciplines. The MBA designation originated in the United States, emerging from the late 19th century as the country industrialized and companies sought out scientific approaches to management. The MBA degree has since achieved worldwide recognition.
Accreditation bodies exist specifically for MBA programs to ensure consistency and quality of graduate business education, and business schools in many countries offer MBA programs tailored to full-time, part-time, executive, and distance learning students, with specialized concentrations.
Each year, well-known business publications such as Business Week, US News & World Report, Fortune, Financial Times, and the Wall Street Journal publish rankings of selected MBA programs that, while controversial in their methodology, nevertheless can directly influence the prestige of schools that achieve high scores.

DISCLOSURE: I have recently joined up forces with The GMAT Coach to help promote the great services he offers. I MADE THIS VIDEO BEFORE I JOINED UP WITH THE GMAT COACH. It is my honest, truthful opinion. I would never promote anything I didn’t use or find success with. Obviously I found success or I wouldn’t have gotten into b-school

nice video dude… …
nice video dude…did you go into grad school directly after college?
Pretty nice video. …
Pretty nice video. I wouldn’t advocate “not studying” regardless of where you’re going though, haha. A 700 on the gmat in a school that has a 540 average can be a pretty nice bargaining chip for scholarships and financial support from the school…..That’s my thought.
can you explain …
can you explain this a little more??? im really confused about whether or not i should attend graduate school…..and i certainly dont have the money to attend a top 25 school.

I feel you also as a person who has a BS in Economics, but sometimes it isn’t what you actually know, but more over the pieces of paper you have to show potential employers how qualified you are.

Believe it or not, …
Believe it or not, the main purpose of business school is networking. That’s why many people say that it’s not worth getting an MBA (yes, not even the learning aspect) if you can’t get it from a top 15-20 school, in general cases. The networking value of spending upwards of $80k is not worth it if you are going to a school beyond the top 20-25 ranking. Undergrad business degree or not, the networking opps provided going to a place like HBS/Stanford/etc. are unparalleled, in general cases.

Why do so many …
Why do so many people who take the GMAT have an undergrad degree in another field than business? My friend who went to a very good school, told me that it’s just a review of the business stuff you learned as an undergrad in a different setting.
My point is basically, how could 1-2 years of an MBA, replace 4 years of an undergrad degree in business. I took way more business classes than what is required during the MBA. That’s why I don’t know if the MBA is for people with a B.S. in business
Hello Ben, Im …
Hello Ben, Im currently studying my butt off for the coming GMAT exam in July. My strategy for this exam is just knocking down one problem at a time and becoming familiar with the type of questions. Im currently using the GMAT study guide from the GMAC. I have been taking practice exams and Im not happy with the scores Ive been getting. Do you have any other recomendations that you can offer?

becuase you only …
becuase you only have 1.8 minutes per question !.. and GMAT is basically a CAT (Computer Based Adaptive Test) that means, computer will keep adjusting the level of difficulty of questions (from simple to difficult) depending upon your right or wrong answers.
therefore one must know smart ways to solve questions quickly so that they may not run short of time if they get difficult level questions !
thank you!
thank you!

No calc on the test. That’s why it’s so important to learn the “smart” ways to solve problems
