What was the story about budget cuts stopping police in modesto, Ca from investigating prostitution?
I am a cell phone buisness owner in the area, and to hear that prostitution may get to run wild unchecked is disturbing, Just wondering if anyone knew anything, I barely heard a local news station say something about as I was getting in the shower for work the other day and missed the story.
Would hate to have the trash circling around my strip mall area

What the police have decided is that they will no longer carry out "stings" to arrest prostitutes in situations where no-one is complaining.
In future, all prostitution enforcement will be triggered by complaints. Instead of the cops spending the cities money on huge numbers of "outcall massages" in the hope that they will be propositioned for sex, and be able to make a bust, they will wait for people like – for example – cell-phone store owners to call them and say "There are hookers working the street in front of my mall".
