Nothing is neutral. Every decision we make and every action we take moves us closer to success or failure.

what is the saddest news story that you have ever heard and will never forget?

i remember last year when a family went four weel driving in the bush they had a toilet stop and two boys aged 7 and 4 went to do their buisness opposite to a house that had a sign up saying TRESSPASSES WILL BE SHOT SMILE I WILL. the boys naver tresspassed but the man came out of the house and shot the 7 year old boy who died instantly.

the minds of some people i dont know how they do some things

The shootings in Cumbria by Derrick Bird, all his victims seemed just ordinary people, one lady was coming back from shopping, one lady was delivering catalog’s, and one guy was out on a bike ride – i guess i could put myself in their place, just doing ordinary everyday things, when suddenly some mad man goes crazy with a gun.
I know one of the victims, the guy cutting grass, he had two young children, can you imagine it? Later that day? His kids ask "Mummy, where’s Daddy?" Doesn’t bear thinking about.

I remember this story and I believe it happened here in Texas. It certainly was sad and so senseless. I’m 60 years old and I have heard many sad stories in my life. The saddest stories to me are the ones where the parent loses a child. Years ago when I first started working as a teaching assistant we had this gorgeous little girl in the afternoon kindergarten class. Her mom had her dressed so cute each day. One day she came to school and was the picture of health. The principal met me the next morning at the door and told me she had died during the night with meningitis. Her mom, family and all of us were devastated.
