</div> USC on cusp of Coliseum control The University of Southern California is on the cusp of controlling its home football venue -- the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum -- as the Coliseum Commission approved a measure that would give USC control of the venue, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The vote was approved 8-to-1, the report said.
Under the new lease, USC would control the facility until 2054. USC would fun $70 million in upgrades and take control of the revenue.

</div> Proposed budget cuts hit court system <img src='http://assets.bizjournals.com/sanfrancisco/news/California_state_flag*100.jpg?v=1'>Gov. Jerry Brown?s proposal to whack trial court funding by $544 million this fiscal year will seriously compromise public access to justice, members of the judiciary said Monday.
The governor?s proposed May revision of the state of California budget includes a $300 million cut in trial court funding. It also delays $240 in spending on trial court construction and seeks to save $4 million by increasing retirement contribution for state court employees.
