How To Put Video On Your Website

Do you want to increase your website sales, web-traffic, or start your own online TV talk show? Would you like to broadcast your newsletter articles or videos over the Internet to others? Has this seemed impractical because video loads too slow, takes to much web space or just seems to hard to understand. We’ll welcome to the NEW world of instant loading, user friendly web video.
You may have noticed that a large number of websites are now featuring videos, everything from music videos, to online training. News is a popular use for presenting website video. You’ve probably heard a lot about RSS (Really Simple Syndication), a format designed for sharing web content like news headlines. RSS will be covered in a future article.
Did you know?
That there are so many new advancements in online video and audio in the last year, almost anyone can have their own online radio or TV talk show, radio or television station without high fees, advanced technical knowledge, and no FCC (Federal Communications Commission) intervention or regulation. Just build a website, install your audio and/or video files, advertise, and you’re in business. You can even broadcast your audio and video files through RSS feeds (we’ll explain in a moment) to websites worldwide and Joint Venture (JV) with other website owners to include your video on their websites.

a hurry and easily distracted, and even sensitively attuned to watching television many hours a day. TV is losing some of its ground to web-surfing.
Give the people what they want, video. Entertain, inform and educate them the way they are already trained for. Now it’s easier than ever to do this. Here, we are focusing on adding video / audio to your website for various purposes such as, marketing, training, V-Blogging, video sharing and etc. New technology has made it easy to add fast loading (called Streaming) video content to your website.
Until recently, between slow dial-up Internet connections and older technology, adding video wasn't practical for general website usage. But since over 60% of individuals online now have broadband access, and the new streaming technology, audio and video files can now be viewed online with little or no buffering. Buffering means to make the video viewable to your computer (the simple explanation). Therefore, video is now a feature that can be efficiently used online. There are still size and quality limitations to consider, but the industry is making progress in this arena almost daily.
The other problem hindering website video use was its complicated installation process. It’s been very difficult for the average individual to add video files to their websites. Windows Player simplified this process but still had limitations. It played a few formats, but not the streaming .swf (Flash) files and you had to know how to install their player on your website to play the video. You needed to know html webpage code or have a program like Microsoft’s FrontPage to install the player and video on a webpage.
Now there are a few new solutions that make it easy for the average person to install video on a website without needing too much computer or webpage knowledge. If a person knows how to cut and paste a simple code into a webpage, they can ad existing video files to their site. The tutorials even teach how to do this for the absolute beginner.
The latest software is an integration of several individual modules assembled as one user friendly software package that permits anyone to convert most of the existing video formats into fast loading, high quality, and streaming website videos. This software even enables you to customize your video player, video size, and quality. There is no player or software for your website visitor to download since the player is built into your webpage and loads almost instantly.
There are many software programs available that claim it’s easy to install video on your website. Most don’t work as promised. One good suite is Camtasia, but it is complex to use and cost several hundred dollars. A good user friendly, beginners’ level, feature-rich software should cost less than $100.
Video Content
Making video for a website is very easy today. A mass amount of people now have low cost digital video cameras. Many have video still cameras. New software makes it easy for non-technical individuals to create automatic training videos and presentation from still pictures. We’ll cover this feature in the next article in this web-video series.
Digital video and still cameras easily connect to your computer to upload the pictures from your camera to your computer in a digital format. One simple conversion to the new streaming format, making a video or audio player, and pasting the new code onto your webpage and you’re in business.
Windows XP even includes “Windows Movie Maker” for editing your videos in your computer. This is beginner level software but makes high quality edits. Your video cam can give you the ability to immediately create training videos, have your own TV talk show and etc. You simply record your video on your computer, edit it if necessary, and save it in the new streaming video format. Do a series of these and you have prerecorded videos viewable by anyone with Internet access. Mylan to market generic Plavix

Cranberry Township project gets $2M loan
A three-story office building planned for Cranberry Township will get a $1.9 million loan from the Commonwealth Financial Authority.
The 90,000-square-foot building is being built near the Cranberry Commons Shopping Center and the Westinghouse Electric Co. The funding was given to Development Capital Investors on behalf of Cranberry Crossroads LP, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development said Thursday afternoon.

Pennsylvania's unemployment rate falls in April

The Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry said Thursday the state's unemployment rate was 7.4 percent in April. That's down five-tenths of a percentage point from a year ago and below the nationwide rate of 8.1 percent.

Marcellus, Utica wastewater facility to open
<img src='http://assets.bizjournals.com/pittsburgh/Energy-Inc-Print-Bug-*100.jpg?v=1'>Eureka Resources LLC said Thursday that it will open a treatment facility in Bradford County to treat wastewater from the Marcellus and Utica shales.
Eureka already has a treatment plant in Williamsport in the northeastern section of Pennsylvania. The Bradford County facility will be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and will treat up to 10,000 barrels of drilling muds and flow back water beginning at the end of the year. The water will then go to reuse, stored or sent to the Williamsport facility.

Atlas Resource Partners in Barnett deal
<img src='http://assets.bizjournals.com/pittsburgh/Energy-Inc-Print-Bug-*100.jpg?v=1'>Atlas Resource Partners LP said Thursday it will acquire assets in the Barnett Shale from Titan Operating LLC.
The 250 billion cubic feet equivalent of proved reserves in the Texas natural gas play will cost Atlas Resource Partners $184 million in stock and close by July. Included are 43 wells and 16,000 net acres, 84 percent natural gas.
This is Atlas Resource Partners' second acquisition in the Barnett Shale in two months, the company said.<div class="feedflare">

Home sales up 11 percent in Pittsburgh region

Data from real estate analysis firm RealSTATs released Thursday found that there were 1,919 homes sold in the five-county region during April compared to 1,734 a year ago. That included increases in each of the five counties, including a dramatic increase from 231 in Westmoreland in April 2011 to 322 in April 2012. April sales are down 15 percent from April 2010 at the height of the homebuyer tax-credit program.

One Young World registration tops 1,000

Industrial hose company sets up in Cheswick
Another new company is set to move into the 500,000-plus square foot former Bay Valley Foods facility in Cheswick.
Hose Power, Inc., an Orange Park, FL-based hydraulic and industrial hose distributor, has committed to taking a 40,000 square foot lease in the building. The company will take the remaining portion of the building left available by Hostess Brands, Inc., which recently leased about 60,000 square feet in the building.

Maria College names new president
Maria College has named Dr. Lea A. Johnson as the third president of the college, effective July 1.
Johnson currently is dean and associate professor at the School of Business Administration at American International College in Springfield, Massachusetts.

New York state holding energy forum May 22-23
The state Public Service Commission and the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority are holding a two-day statewide conference on energy affordability at the Albany Marriott.
The Low-Income Forum on Energy (LIFE) will provide details on energy efficiency programs, assistance for bill payment and consumer protections.
Commission Chairman Garry Brown said the forum also provides an opportunity for service providers to share information with customers.

Nurses union sets new leadership rules
Members of the New York Nurses Association voted today to turn the century-old union over to the leadership of working, bedside nurses.
About 2,500 bedside nurses?representing about 7 percent of NYSNA?s statewide membership?gathered in Manhattan to set a new course for the Latham-based organization.

Slow growth keeps Albany metro shy of pre-recession job mark
Uneven hiring last month in the Capital Region's private sector leaves the area still striving to recover all the jobs it lost during the recession?two years after the low-point in employment.
Businesses and nonprofits added a net of 2,500 jobs from April 2011 to April 2012, an increase of 0.7 percent. The data were released Thursday.
That rate is slower than the growth occurring in upstate, all of New York state and also the U.S. over that same span.

Entrepreneurs starting businesses have access to mentoring and training without having to spend any money.
That was the message Tonya Crew wanted to get across to those attending her workshop at Local Lift, an event for entrepreneurs held at TEC-SMART in Malta, New York.
Crew is a small business developer and counselor with the Community Loan Fund of the Capital Region.

Port of Albany awards maintenance services contracts
The Port of Albany has awarded maintenance contracts for electrical services and overhead door services.
Four companies?Kasselman Electric Co. Inc.; Harold R. Clune Inc.; AA Electrical Services; and McBain Electric bid on the electrical services contract. (See chart below for bid information)

New York state approves land bank application
The board of Empire State Development Corp., New York's economic development arm, Thursday approved a joint application from Schenectady County, the city of Schenectady and the city of Amsterdam to create one of New York?s first land banks.
Land banks have the power to buy, hold, manage and develop foreclosed, vacant and abandoned properties.
Supporters say they can move faster than the usual municipal processes to auction properites or put them up for sale to investors and developers.<div class="feedflare">
