</div> Report: Foreclosure activity slowing in Wash., nation A new report says foreclosures are declining nationally, particularly in the West.
According to RealtyTrac, a California-based foreclosure listing service, foreclosure filings nationwide in April hit their lowest monthly total since July 2007, and foreclosure activity declined sharply in several Western states.
Foreclosure activity nationwide was down 14 percent in April from April of 2011, with one in every 698 U.S. residences having a foreclosure filing during the month.

</div> Credit card and mortgage debt down, but so are scores While a typical American's credit card and mortgage debt have both fallen since last year, the average credit score nevertheless fell by one point between March and April.
So says Credit Karma, a San Francisco company that tracks such things. The average American consumer had about $5,650 in credit card debt in April, down 13 percent from a year earlier. And average mortgage debt was down 3 percent year-over-year at $166,631.

Indiana Tech opens second Kentucky campus The College of Professional Studies at Indiana Tech will soon be offering classes at a location in Northern Kentucky. It will be the college's second Kentucky campus.
The college's new campus is located in Fort Wright at 809 Wright Summit Parkway in the Wright's Summit Executive Office Center. According to a news release, the location includes 11,000 square feet, eight classrooms, a library, computer lab and student lounge.

The preliminary April rate is the lowest unemployment rate in Kentucky since November 2008, according to the Kentucky Office of Employment and Training.
The preliminary April 2012 jobless rate was 1.3 percentage points below the 9.6 percent rate recorded a year earlier.
