AT&T donates $100,000 to aid area high schoolsAT&T Inc. presented its fourth and final $100,000 grant to Communities in Schools of Jacksonville, as part of its Aspire initiative.
AT&T (NYSE: T) has awarded $100,000 each year for the past four years to benefit students at Terry Parker High School and Andrew Jackson High School.

Domestic traffic was down 0.3 percent, while international traffic was down 3.2 percent.
The company?s preliminary U.S. Department of Transportation on-time arrival rate of 86.4 percent was 11.8 points higher year-over-year
Delta (NYSE: DAL) carried 11,642,608 passengers in January -- up 0.6 percent.

Catholic leaders object to contraception mandate
Catholic leaders in New York are joining their peers nationwide in urging parishioners to reject a federal mandate regarding inclusion of paid contraception in health insurance coverage.
Buffalo Business First, a sister publication of The Business Review, reports that in western New York, Bishop Edward Kmiec this week wrote to church leaders, many of whom addressed the issue this weekend during morning sermons.

No urgency in making hydrofracking decision
There has been no decision on whether to approve a natural gas drilling, known as hydrofracking, in New York and there doesn?t seem to be any urgency to making a decision soon, The New York Times is reporting.
The Times reports that the approval process has slowed to a crawl and noted that Gov. Andrew Cuomo didn?t even mention it in his State of the State address last month.<div class="feedflare">

Albany?s apartment vacancy rate among the lowest in U.S.
Apartment owners in the Albany, New York, area had little trouble finding tenants last year as the vacancy rate was among the lowest in the nation, according to a report.
The annualized vacancy rate in the Albany metro area was 3.3 percent in 2011, the 22nd lowest rate among 200 metro areas surveyed by Reis, a real estate research firm in New York City.
The annualized vacancy rate in the U.S. was 5.9 percent. In the Northeast, it was 4 percent, according to Reis.

Bank of America investors win class-action status in suit over Merrill Lynch deal
Bank of America got more bad news Monday when a federal judge approved class-action status for a lawsuit accusing the bank and some of its senior executives and directors of fraudulently misleading them about the 2008 takeover of Merrill Lynch.
The shareholder suit takes issue with the size of Merrill Lynch?s losses and bonus payments made at the time.

Cartwheels Gymnastics Center signed a lease to fill nearly 4,000 square feet at North Country Commons in Clifton Park, New York.
The business is scheduled to open Feb. 11 in the former Boat and RV Warehouse storage garage at the outdoor shopping center, located on the corner of Vischer Ferry Road and Route 146.

Prestige Hospitality in Albany now running Radisson Hotel in Newark, New Jersey, area
Prestige Hospitality Group, a hotel owner and management firm in Albany, New York, has been awarded the operations and management contract of the 117-room Radisson Hotel in Carteret, New Jersey.
The contract boosts the size of Prestige?s portfolio to 12 hotels with 1,313 rooms, said Justin D. Smith, president and chief operating officer. The firm owns one of those hotels: the 92-unit Northwoods Inn in Lake Placid.
Prestige manages the rest.

Delta traffic down slightly in January
<img src='http://assets.bizjournals.com/dayton/news/2011/01/19/DeltaPlanes*100.jpg?v=1'>Delta Air Lines Inc.?s traffic dipped 1.5 percent in January on a 0.6 percent rise in capacity, the airline reported Monday.
Domestic traffic was down 0.3 percent, while international traffic was down 3.2 percent.
The company?s preliminary U.S. Department of Transportation on-time arrival rate of 86.4 percent was 11.8 points higher year-over-year
Delta (NYSE: DAL) carried 11,642,608 passengers in January -- up 0.6 percent.

The owners of Wolff?s Biergarten in Albany, New York, have purchased the Miss Albany Diner in a move that allows them to choose their neighbors.
Matt Baumgartner, Jimmy Vann and Demetra Vann closed last week on the diner, which is located at 893 Broadway in Albany?s warehouse district. Wolff?s address is 395 Broadway.
