</div> Head of VA Acquisition Academy to step down Lisa Doyle, chancellor of the Veterans Affairs Acquisition Academy, is leaving her position in June to become the new vice president of learning and development at Lowe's Co., Federal Computer Week reported.

</div> USPS to start closing plants in August The U.S. Postal Service will start consolidating its mail sorting facilities in August and spread the closing of 229 locations over the course of the next two years.
When completed, the consolidations will eliminate 28,000 jobs and save the Postal Service $1.2 billion a year. The Postal Service will close 140 facilities through February 2013 and an additional 89 facilities in 2014.<div class="feedflare">

</div> CSC loses $158 million in 'very poor' quarter Falls Church-based Computer Sciences Corp. fell into the red in its latest quarter, one which CEO Mike Lawrie candidly described as "very poor."
CSC posted a net loss of $158 million, or $1.02 per diluted share, in the fiscal 2012 fourth quarter ended March 30. That compares with net income of $171 million, or $1.09 per diluted share, in the year-ago period, the company said in a statement released Thursday.<div class="feedflare">

The Stanford Linear Accelerator is operated by Stanford University for the U.S. Department of Energy.
The particle research laboratory has been using Rackwise data center infrastructure management since 2009, and it is expanding its use of the software to model power use.
