Facebook IPO shares priced at $38<img src='http://assets.bizjournals.com/sanjose/print-edition/11-FACEBOOK-ipo*100.jpg?v=1'>Facebook Inc. priced its initial public offering of stock at $38 per share as of late Thursday afternoon, according to a MarketWatch report.
Based on the per share price, Facebook?s IPO would be valued at $104 billion. The company raised $16 billion in the offering.
Earlier this week, the social-networking giant indicated that it had expected to price its shares in the $34 to $38 range. Thursday?s announcement puts the IPO on the high-end of the range.

This is down from 3.83 percent the prior week, Bloomberg reported, citing figures from Freddie Mac. This week?s rates are the lowest in the McLean, Va.-based mortgage-finance company?s recorded history, dating back to 1971.
The average 15-year rate also fell to a record low of 3.04, down from 3.05 percent in the prior week.

San Francisco-based company (NYSE:CRM), with offices in San Mateo, provides enterprise cloud computing applications. It reported a net loss for the first quarter of $19.5 million, or 14 cents per share.

The San Carlos-based company specializes in powering big data applications.
Bloom was previously the CEO and president of San Mateo-based smart grid management software company eMeter, which was acquired by Siemens Corp. last year. It makes metering software for electric, gas and water utilities.
Before that he was a consultant at TPG, a private investment firm.
