Vineyard Vines has signed a lease with Bayer Properties for a location in The Summit between L?Occitane and Brooks Brothers. Alabama foreclosures slip in April
April foreclosure filings have fallen each year since 2010 in Alabama, but a new report shows the trend is now leveling off. Combined bank foreclosure and auction filings decreased 2 percent to 1,803 in April from 1,840 in the same month of 2011, according to the latest monthly report from foreclosure tracking firm RealtyTrac. Of those filings, 650 were bank foreclosures and 1,153 were for auctions. Birmingham was one of 13 major metro areas that lost jobs between March 2011 and March 2012, according to a new report from On Numbers. The area lost 1,200 jobs over the 12-month period. HP to cut up to 25,000 jobs (report); no word on Mass. layoffs

Tufts University announced Wednesday that it is seeking approval from the Boston Public Health Commission to build a biosafety research laboratory within its medical school building, located on Harrison Avenue in Chinatown.
