Reddy Development buys Coldwater Springs Promenade for $7.75M
Reddy Development in Scottsdale purchased the Coldwater Springs Promenade, a partially developed retail project on the southwest corner of Van Buren Street and Avondale Boulevard in Avondale, for $7.75 million. Craig Phelps to take over as A.T. Still president

Ilderton named a finalist for national auto dealer award
A High Point auto dealer was named a regional finalist for a national auto industry award. Tim Ilderton, the general manager and dealer at Ilderton Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, was one of four finalists for the 2012 TIME Dealer of the Year. Mike Shaw of Mike Shaw Chevrolet in Denver received the top award. Triad gas prices continue upward

Premium gas increased a cent from last week to $3.92 a gallon. The average price in North Carolina is $3.57, up from $3.50 a week earlier and $3.40 a month ago. Home sales in Winston-Salem region rose in 2011

Hospice of Davidson County has received a gift of $500,000 from the estate of Christine Young Harris. Honeywell sues smart thermostat maker Nest over patents
Honeywell Corp. said on Monday it has sued smart thermostat developer Nest Labs Inc. for patent infringement. The lawsuit filed at United States District Court for the District of Minnesota alleges that the Palo Alto company infringes on seven Honeywell patents related to its thermostat technology. The lawsuit also names Best Buy, which sells the Nest Labs thermostat. A customer survey reportedly done by Best Buy on possible price and features for a TV from Apple Inc. has fanned speculation that such a device might come this year. LS9 adds Rood as VP, operations
LS9 Inc. said Monday it has hired Gregory Rood as vice president of operations. The South San Francisco-based company develops renewable and sustainable products. The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) said Monday that worldwide semiconductor sales hit a record $299.5 billion for 2011, or a year-on-year increase of 0.4 percent from $298.3 billion in 2010. Facebook to start mobile ads prior to IPO?
Facebook reportedly plans to start showing ads to users of its mobile sites next month as it prepares for its initial public offering in May. Mobile was cited by the company in the potential risks section of its IPO filing last week, saying that it hadn't begun to monetize the user stream that accounts for about half of its traffic, and growing. Mobeam adding funds to Series A round
Mobeam said it has added $1.5 million to the $4.9 million Series A round it announced in October 2011. The San Francisco-based company specializes in patented, light-based communications technology with applications in mobile commerce. The company has added investor DFJ Athena, a Korea-focused venture fund affiliated with Menlo Park-based Draper Fisher Jurvetson, as well as new funds from existing investor and board chairman Ben DuPont.
