Cranberry Township project gets $2M loan
A three-story office building planned for Cranberry Township will get a $1.9 million loan from the Commonwealth Financial Authority. The 90,000-square-foot building is being built near the Cranberry Commons Shopping Center and the Westinghouse Electric Co. Marcellus, Utica wastewater facility to open

Atlas Resource Partners in Barnett deal

The 250 billion cubic feet equivalent of proved reserves in the Texas natural gas play will cost Atlas Resource Partners $184 million in stock and close by July. Included are 43 wells and 16,000 net acres, 84 percent natural gas. Home sales up 11 percent in Pittsburgh region

Southwest National Bank set to expand farther west

Wichita posts slight job increase for the year

Wind turbine to be installed at Halstead High School
For the second time this week, a wind turbine is being installed at an area high school. Westar Energy?s Green Team is set to install a 2.4-kilowatt wind turbine at Halstead High School. The turbine will be located on the northwest corner of the front side of the high school, at 520 W. Sixth in Halstead. Kansas Star Casino a highlight of Boyd's Peninsula Gaming purchase

The Wichita Business Journal reports the casino began operating in Mulvane in December, but additional phases, including a hotel, a larger casino and an equestrian facility, remain in the works. A new report says foreclosures are declining nationally, particularly in the West. According to RealtyTrac, a California-based foreclosure listing service, foreclosure filings nationwide in April hit their lowest monthly total since July 2007, and foreclosure activity declined sharply in several Western states. Credit card and mortgage debt down, but so are scores
While a typical American's credit card and mortgage debt have both fallen since last year, the average credit score nevertheless fell by one point between March and April. So says Credit Karma, a San Francisco company that tracks such things. The average American consumer had about $5,650 in credit card debt in April, down 13 percent from a year earlier. And average mortgage debt was down 3 percent year-over-year at $166,631.
